Travis Scott and the Astroworld Festival Tragedy

Travis Scott and the Astroworld Festival Tragedy

No one could have predicted that Astroworld Festival 2021 would turn into a tragedy and one of Texa's most deadly concerts. Scott coordinated the Astroworld Festival 2021 last Friday, November 5, at NRG Park in Houston. It was a festive show including artists Roddy Ricch, Sza, Don Toliver, Metro Boomin, and other performers. Astroworld is a festival that won't be ever forgotten.

Travis Scott is a musician from Houston, Texas. His return home made for a highly anticipated show to his adoring fans. The festival takes its name from his most well-known album, "Astroworld," released in 2018.

With excitement levels peaking surrounding the rapper's performance, the event ended up in tragedy when attendees rushed the stage. The surge resulted in mass casualties and a series of injuries. During the rapper's performance, eight persons ranging in age from 14 to 27 were killed, and hundreds more were injured.

Fans were seen on video yelling "stop the show" and appealing to event employees to intervene. One person even scaled a camera platform to point out the injured. Scott eventually finished his set about 15 to 20 minutes earlier than the scheduled hour of 8:00 p.m. However, there are still some unanswered issues concerning why it didn't conclude sooner. With heightened levels of sound and thousands of yelling fans, Scott contends that an artist can't always tell what is being shouted at him, nor are they aware of what’s exactly transpiring in the audience. Despite the claim, Scott is seen in several fan videos, alerting security to the growing tension in the room.

Following the tragedy, the artist is being sued with a fatal US festival tragedy. Scott also received numerous complaints on TikTok, and some have questioned why the show WAS not stopped immediately.

Scott has declared and pledged his financial support and condolences to the families of the people who died at the Astroworld music festival. The Kardashian-Jenner family had also expressed their sympathies in the aftermath of the tragedy. Other artists on the festival lineup have offered assistance to the victims as well.
