Jimmy Fallon, Arianna Grande, and Megan Thee Stallion's Masked Christmas

The American comedian, actor, and host debuts a new holiday song featuring two notable artists, Arianna Grande and Megan Thee Stallion. The music video for "It Was a … (Masked Christmas)" premiered on December 6, 2021, on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

It is not just a Christmas song about celebrating a holiday and exchanging gifts, but it's a piece of celebrating Christmas during a pandemic. The host talked about how he began writing and recording the song at New York's Electric Lady studio last summer.

The song is accompanied by a music video that is humorous, relatable, and cinematic, directed by Dan Opal. Like the song, the music video depicts a holiday that portrays how the holiday is experienced while wearing a mask and waiting in line not only to purchase a present but also to receive a vaccine booster.

The song's chorus entails a detailed holiday in the middle of a pandemic from 2020 to 2021 Christmas season:

It was a masked Christmas, we stayed in the house

We covered our nose, and covered our mouth

But it's Christmas time

We'll be in line for a booster

When Jimmy Fallon wrote and recorded the song, the host recommended it to feature Arianna Grande. Fallon revealed that Arianna Grande suggested Megan Thee Stallion perform the rap portion of the COVID-19 pandemic-appropriate holiday song.

The host also revealed that the song is primarily about how last year's lockdown was difficult for everyone. He turns it into a piece and incorporates amusing incidents that occurred during the lockdown, resulting in a truly magnificent Christmas masterpiece to be enjoyed by everybody.

Did you notice how fast the time flies and it will be the second year to celebrate a Christmas amidst covid? How awesome and relatable is the song "It Was a … (Masked Christmas)" in your opinion?
