Even After His Untimely Death, XXXTentacion Continues To Have High Earning Potential With $2.3M In Revenue From January To July 2019

XXXTentacion, a combination of “X” being the unknown and tentacion meaning temptation, is described by the late artist as what his life revolved around (i.e. unknown temptations).  Born Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy on January 23, 1998, XXXTentacion was unfortunately gunned down on June 18, 2018 at the age of 20 following a robbery outside of a motorcycle dealership.  During his childhood, X had a hard upbringing in one the most crime-ridden neighborhoods.  With his father in jail and his mother’s own struggles, XXXTentacion was raised mostly by his grandmother.   Prior to his untimely death, he had a long list of charges including gun possession, armed robbery, armed burglary, grand theft, possession of narcotics, and many others.

Despite all of this, music was X’s passion and this provided a way for him to heal, process his thoughts, and give hope and encouragement to many young fans.  His first major single, Look At Me!, was released on Jan 29, 2016 and was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 2017.  On August 25, 2017, he released the album titled 17, which made him more mainstream and he was applauded for his deep lyrics as he delved into mental health issues including depression and suicide.   This was followed by the release of his second album on March 16, 2018, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200.  Since his death, his estate posthumously released his third studio album Skins on Dec 7, 2018.   His fourth studio album Bad Vibes Forever will be released on December 6, 2019.  Even after his untimely death, XXXTentacion continues to have high earning potential with $2.3M in revenue from January to July 2019.
