Drakeo the Ruler's Death; What Happened?

Drakeo was one of the dozens of artists scheduled to perform at the massive all-day concert in Los Angeles' Exposition Park. The concert features a star-studded list of performers, including Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and YG. 

Drakeo the Ruler, whose real name is Darrell Wayne Caldwell was one of the renowned rappers performing on Once Upon a Time in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 18, 2021. 

The artist was fatally stabbed just as he was getting ready for a performance backstage. The stabbing occurred following an incident and altercation backstage at approximately 8:40 p.m. PST.

Paramedics were dispatched to the scene immediately, but no arrests have been made yet. Drakeo was brought to the hospital, but his injuries caused him to succumb to death. The festival's organizers announced on Twitter shortly before midnight announcing that the show had been canceled after the stabbing incident.

Drakeo the Ruler is one of the most accomplished artists who has passed away. 

He is also among the artists who have been killed, including XXXTentacion, who was murdered on June 18, 2018. Also, Pop Smoke, who died in a homicide on February 19, 2020, and John Lennon, who was shot on December 8, 1980, to name a few examples.

In addition, he was the fourth rapper within the last three years murdered in Los Angeles. These artists were Pop Smoke, Nipsey Hussle, and Slim 400.

After the tragic incident and passing of Drake the Ruler, artists such as Drake, Snoop Dogg, Saweetie, and Juicy J, among others, took to social media on Sunday to express their condolences for the death of the 28-year-old Los Angeles born rapper.
