BTS Has Announced a Hiatus to Focus on Solo Projects

BTS announced that they would be going on a "hiatus" during the Festa dinner they held on Tuesday evening. This decision gave each member more time to concentrate on their solo projects.

The group revealed the plan in a video uploaded to YouTube and showed the members celebrating the group's ninth anniversary by casually enjoying dinner together.

The seven-member K-pop group, which comprises RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and V, as well as Jungkook, reflect on their wild adventure together in a video that is one hour long and was recorded at the event. They do this before announcing the news and explaining their intentions for the future.

The band then announced that it would be concentrating on its individual projects, which up until this point have been distributed as mixtapes. It is anticipated that J-Hope will be the first one to do so.

Although it may be "too late" to give light on individuals' skills, RM has stated that the group would begin releasing proper solo albums.

Jin has also voiced his desire to pursue a career in the acting industry.

The band continued by stating that the decision was not easy, and they expressed their regret at the possibility that they would be upsetting their Army (named of the group's fanbase).

"We can't help but think of our fans no matter what; we want to be the kind of artists remembered by our fans. I think now we're starting to think about what kind of artists we each want to be remembered [as]," Jimin expresses.

Suga enthusiastically interjected during the discussion with the statement, "It's not like we're disbanding!" to make the topic more approachable and lighten the conversation.

Solo projects from J-Hope and Suga, who have released mixtapes on their own before, are in the works. In addition, Jungkook announced that an album of his own was on the way.

The announcement that J-Hope is working on a new album coincides with his upcoming performance at Lollapalooza. He will make history by being the first South Korean artist to lead the main stage at Lollapalooza or any other major music festival in the United States. However, the band did not provide a release schedule for individual albums.
