BLACKPINK is highlighted on Rolling Stone's June 2022 Cover

Since Destiny's Child appeared on the magazine's cover in 2001, this is the first time that a Korean female group has been featured on the cover of the publication.

As the first Asian girl group ever to grace the cover of Rolling Stone, BLACKPINK has once again made history.

In August of 2016, BLACKPINK made their official debut as a girl group with the release of their debut studio album titled Square One. The Album, the band's first studio album to be recorded in Korea, was scheduled to be released in October 2020.

BLACKPINK is widely regarded as one of the most successful girl groups in South Korea. You can find them in just about every public space in Seoul, from the elevator to the billboards atop the city's tallest buildings. They are the musical act that has collected the greatest number of subscribers on YouTube.

According to a recent report from Rolling Stone, BLACKPINK will soon have a comeback performance on a prominent platform.

BLACKPINK has not shared any new music with fans in more than a year. The group has stated that they have been diligently working on their upcoming album, which is supposedly scheduled to be published later this year. Jisoo stated, "We don't just receive a completed song." Jisoo shared, "We are involved from the beginning, building the blocks, adding this or that feeling, exchanging feedback — and this process of creating makes me feel proud of our music. If we just received pre-made songs, it would feel mechanical. I feel more love for the process because we say, 'How about adding this in the lyrics? How about adding this move in the choreography?'" She continued.

The group is obligated to perform for YG Entertainment until 2023, per the terms of their contract. It has not been reported that a contract renewal will occur at this time, and if it does not occur, the band may disband in 2023.
